PARENTS AS TEACHERS IS AN EVIDENCE-DRIVEN HOME VISITING MODEL
More than a dozen outcome studies have been conducted on the effects of the Parents as Teachers model. Studies published in peer-reviewed journals show statistically significant and sustained effects. Outcome data have been collected on more than 16,000 children and parents. Evaluations of Parents as Teachers have been supported by states, independent school districts, private foundations, universities and research organizations. With each new evaluation, we continue to learn about the children and families served by Parents as Teachers and the long-term impacts on communities.

Friends, Staff, Participants, Board, and Partners,
As we reflect on the 2024-25 program year, I want to take a moment to recognize and celebrate an incredible achievement: our home visitation team exceeded all 10 key service delivery performance indicators—an ambitious goal our team set together and reached through focus, collaboration, and unwavering dedication.
This accomplishment didn’t happen by chance, it is the result of intentional, sustained effort. Over the past year, the team worked both individually and side-by-side to implement a thoughtful workflow plan that helped break down model fidelity requirements into manageable, bite-sized actions. This intentional approach allowed us to stay aligned with PAT essential requirements and best practices in the field, while supporting meaningful customized, tailored service delivery across the entire year. Staff meetings and reflective supervision were dynamic forums where we explored service planning, delivery and quality as a team—learning from one another, evaluating outcomes and measures regularly, and keeping our shared mission at the center of the work.
One of the clearest indicators of impact is a high level of family engagement, reflected in visit frequency data. We maintained strong visit consistency with 88% (89% in 23/24) of visit frequency 1 families receiving at least 75% of required visits. Most notable, however, was a significant rise in visit frequency for families with 2+ identified stressors: increasing from 43% (23/24) to 69% this year receiving at least 75% of required visits,—well above the minimum target of 60%. This demonstrates our team’s ability to build strong, trusting relationships with families, including with those facing more complex challenges. These outcomes clearly show that providing high-quality, consistent services fosters strong, sustained family engagement, even among those facing challenging life circumstances. I am exceedingly proud of how our team embraced intentional practice, demonstrated commitment to continuous quality improvement, and remained grounded in our shared purpose to support children and families with excellence.
To our staff and all those who partner with us to make a difference in the lives of caregivers, children, families and our communities — thank you. This work is only possible because of your steadfast support, dedication, and belief in what we do. As Helen Keller so eloquently said, “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.”
With deep appreciation,
Rose
